East County Jail Bail Bonds — Thousand Oaks, CA

Your Loved One Is at East County Jail. Here's What You Need to Know.

🏛️  East County Jail is one of three Ventura County Sheriff’s facilities. If you’re unsure which jail your loved one is in, visit our full Ventura County Jail Bail Bonds page — it covers all three facilities, the complete Ventura County bail schedule, and the inmate search process. This page is specifically focused on the East County Jail at 2101 East Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks, CA. You can also visit our Todd Road Jail page for the Santa Paula facility.

The East County Jail — officially the Ventura County Sheriff’s East County Patrol Station Jail — is located at 2101 East Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360 and serves as the primary booking and housing facility for east Ventura County. Built in 1988 and shared between East County Police Services and the Thousand Oaks Police Department, this facility handles arrests from Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, and surrounding east county communities. With a capacity of approximately 100 to 137 inmates, the East County Jail is the smallest of Ventura County’s three facilities but plays a critical role as the closest booking point for east county arrests — meaning your loved one may be here rather than the Main Jail in Ventura. The East County Jail is open 24 hours a day and accepts bail bonds and deposits directly at the Thousand Oaks location. Bada Bing Bail Bonds posts bail here around the clock — call us now and we will begin immediately.

Immediate Release From East County Jail in Thousand Oaks, CA

East County Jail Release Times

How Long Does Release Take from East County Jail in Thousand Oaks?

East County Jail handles both initial bookings and ongoing housing — which means release timelines here depend on whether your loved one is a fresh booking still being processed or an already-classified inmate awaiting bail. Here is what families need to know about each scenario.

0 hr
Arrest by East County Law Enforcement
An officer from Thousand Oaks PD, VCSO East Valley Station, Simi Valley PD, CHP, or another east county agency makes an arrest. Because East County Jail is a booking facility — not just a transfer destination — the defendant is transported directly here rather than to the Main Jail in Ventura. This is a key difference from Todd Road: East County Jail is where many east county arrests first enter the system. Call Bada Bing Bail Bonds the moment an arrest happens.

2–5 hr
Booking & Processing at East County Jail
Jail staff processes the defendant at the Thousand Oaks facility: fingerprints, photographs, background check, property collection, and formal entry into the Ventura County inmate system. Bail is set per the Ventura County Bail Schedule. Booking at East County Jail typically takes 2 to 5 hours — somewhat faster than the Main Jail due to the smaller facility volume. The defendant will appear in the online inmate search once booking is complete.

2–5 hr
Bail Set — Bada Bing Bail Bonds Posts the Bond
The moment your loved one appears in the Ventura County inmate system with bail set, Bada Bing Bail Bonds can submit the bond directly to East County Jail — staff there accept bail bonds and deposits 24 hours a day at the Thousand Oaks location. This is another East County Jail advantage: you do not need to go to the Main Jail in Ventura to post bail for someone booked here.

1–3 hr
Release Processing at East County Jail
After the bond is accepted, East County Jail processes release paperwork. Due to the smaller facility size and lower volume compared to the Main Jail, release processing at East County Jail often takes 1 to 3 hours — frequently faster than the Main Jail’s 1 to 4 hour window. Evening and weekend releases may take slightly longer depending on staffing.

Released
Your Loved One Is Released from Thousand Oaks
The defendant walks out of the East County Jail at 2101 East Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks — with court-ordered conditions requiring appearance at all Ventura County Superior Court dates (typically at the East County Division in Simi Valley for east county cases). Bada Bing Bail Bonds remains available throughout the case for any compliance questions or court date reminders.

⏱️ East County Jail vs. Main Jail — Release Time Advantage
Because East County Jail processes significantly fewer bookings per day than the Main Jail in Ventura, the total arrest-to-release window here is often shorter and more predictable. Families of east county arrestees — particularly those from Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, and Moorpark — may see their loved one home faster by having bail posted at the East County Jail rather than waiting for a transfer to Ventura. Call Bada Bing Bail Bonds immediately — the earlier we start, the faster the release.

We provide Bail Bonds 24/7, making our services reliable and accessible.

Posting Bail at East County Jail

We offer affordable payment plans including low-down and 0%-down options for qualifying clients. We accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash. No collateral required in many cases. Bail Bonds in California
Bond Is Posted & Release Is Processed — Often in 1 to 3 Hours

Bada Bing Bail Bonds submits the bond to East County Jail staff directly at the Thousand Oaks facility. Because this jail processes significantly fewer bookings than the Main Jail, release paperwork is often completed in 1 to 3 hours — one of the fastest release windows in the Ventura County system. The defendant is released from the East County Jail at 2101 East Olsen Road with court-ordered conditions attached to the bond.

Bail Bonds in California
Court Appearances Are at the East County Division in Simi Valley

For most east county cases, arraignments and future hearings are held at the Ventura County Superior Court East County Division at 3855-F Alamo Street, Simi Valley — not at the Hall of Justice in Ventura. This is important for the defendant to know before their first court date. Bada Bing Bail Bonds monitors compliance and provides court date reminders to help ensure your loved one appears as required.

About East County Jail

What Is East County Jail and How Does It Fit Into the Ventura County System?

Understanding where East County Jail fits in the three-facility Ventura County jail system helps families know what to expect — and why someone arrested in Thousand Oaks or Simi Valley ends up here rather than the Main Jail in Ventura.

🏛️ The Three Ventura County Jail Facilities
Ventura County’s three facilities serve different geographic and operational roles: (1) Pre-Trial Detention Facility — Ventura (primary booking, 890 beds); (2) Todd Road Jail — Santa Paula (classified housing, 796 beds); (3) East County Jail — Thousand Oaks (east county booking & housing, ~137 beds). Bada Bing Bail Bonds serves all three.

📍 Why East County Jail Exists
The City of Thousand Oaks has contracted with the Ventura County Sheriff for police services since 1964 — one of the longest such arrangements in California. The East County Jail was built in 1988 to provide a local booking point for east county law enforcement, avoiding the lengthy transport to Ventura for every arrest made in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Camarillo.

👤 Who Is Held at East County Jail
The facility houses both pre-trial detainees (awaiting trial or arraignment) and sentenced inmates serving shorter county sentences. It accepts bookings from Thousand Oaks PD, VCSO East Valley Station, CHP, and other east county agencies. Staff accept bail bonds for any person held in Ventura County Sheriff custody — not just East County Jail residents.

🔄 Transfers to & From East County Jail
Some inmates booked at East County Jail are later transferred to the Main Jail in Ventura or Todd Road in Santa Paula based on classification, sentence length, or capacity. A transfer does not change the bail amount. Always verify current location via the inmate search before making any trip to the facility — or just call Bada Bing Bail Bonds and we’ll confirm it for you.

East County Jail Inmate Search

How to Find Someone in East County Jail in Thousand Oaks

Because East County Jail is a full booking facility, newly arrested individuals appear in the Ventura County inmate system directly from Thousand Oaks — you do not need to check the Main Jail first. Here is the exact process to locate your loved one.

  1. Search the Ventura County Sheriff Inmate Database Online
Visit sheriff.venturacounty.gov and click “Inmate Search.” Enter the person’s first and last name or booking number. Results show name, booking number, booking date, charges, bail amount, and current facility — including whether they are at East County Jail (Thousand Oaks), the Main Jail (Ventura), or Todd Road (Santa Paula). Available 24/7 and updated as bookings are processed.
  2. Call the East County Jail Directly Call (805) 494-8242 — the East County Jail’s direct line — to confirm whether your loved one is in custody at this facility, their bail amount, and their booking status. For county-wide inmate information covering all three facilities, call the 24/7 line at (805) 654-3335. Have the person’s full legal name and date of birth ready.
  3. Allow Time for Booking to Complete    If the arrest just occurred, allow 2 to 5 hours before expecting the inmate to appear in the online system. East County Jail processes bookings on-site, so individuals arrested in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, or Moorpark will typically appear under this facility — not the Main Jail in Ventura. If the search shows no results after several hours, call (805) 494-8242 directly as the system may lag behind live bookings.
  4. Write Down Booking Number, Bail Amount & Confirmed Facility  Once your loved one appears in the system, record the exact name as it appears, the booking number, the charges listed, and the bail amount. Confirm the facility shows “East County Jail” or “Thousand Oaks.” You will need all of this when calling Bada Bing Bail Bonds.
  5. Call Bada Bing Bail Bonds — We Post at East County Jail 24/7   Call us the moment you know about the arrest — even before they appear in the system. Our bondsmen are authorized to post bail directly at the East County Jail in Thousand Oaks around the clock. We can process everything remotely with digital signatures — no visit to our office or the jail required. We begin the moment bail is set.

East County Cities & Communities

Why Arrests from East Ventura County End Up at East County Jail

East County Jail in Thousand Oaks serves as the closest and most logical booking point for law enforcement agencies operating in the eastern half of Ventura County. Here is how arrests from each community route through this facility.

Thousand Oaks
Thousand Oaks is served by the Ventura County Sheriff under one of California’s oldest police services contracts (since 1964). Arrests by the Thousand Oaks Police Department — which operates alongside VCSO East County Services — are booked directly at East County Jail at 2101 E. Olsen Road. This is the most common source of bookings at this facility.

Simi Valley
Simi Valley PD is an independent city department, but Simi Valley arrests often route to East County Jail in nearby Thousand Oaks as the closest Ventura County booking facility. East County Jail is just 10–15 minutes from central Simi Valley — making it the fastest option for east county law enforcement. Court cases are typically heard at the East County Division courthouse in Simi Valley.

Moorpark
Moorpark contracts with the Ventura County Sheriff for law enforcement services. VCSO deputies patrolling Moorpark transport arrests to East County Jail in Thousand Oaks — the nearest facility — rather than the longer drive to the Main Jail in Ventura. Moorpark residents calling Bada Bing Bail Bonds about an East County Jail arrest will find our process fast and familiar.

Westlake Village
Westlake Village is a small city straddling the Ventura/Los Angeles county line, served by VCSO under contract. The Ventura County portion of Westlake Village falls under East County Patrol Services, with arrests routed to East County Jail in Thousand Oaks. Note: Los Angeles County portions go to the LA County system — verify jurisdiction if unsure

Oak Park
Oak Park is an unincorporated community adjacent to Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills, served by the Ventura County Sheriff. VCSO arrests in Oak Park are routed to East County Jail. Oak Park’s location near the LA County border makes it a particularly busy patrol area for VCSO East County units.

Newbury Park
Newbury Park is a community within the city of Thousand Oaks, served by VCSO East County Patrol Services. Arrests in Newbury Park — whether by Sheriff’s deputies or Thousand Oaks PD — are processed at East County Jail. Newbury Park is one of the highest-population communities in the East County patrol zone.

Camarillo (East)
Most Camarillo arrests go to the Main Jail in Ventura, as Camarillo is served by the central VCSO patrol division. However, arrests occurring near the eastern boundary of Camarillo — closer to Thousand Oaks — may be processed at East County Jail depending on officer discretion and facility capacity. Call us and we will confirm which facility your loved one is at.

Agoura Hills (Ventura County)
A small portion of the Agoura Hills area falls within Ventura County jurisdiction. VCSO arrests in the Ventura County portion of this community are routed to East County Jail as the nearest facility. The majority of Agoura Hills is in LA County — if you are unsure which county, call Bada Bing Bail Bonds and we will verify.

East County Jail processes releases in approximately 1 to 3 hours after a bond is accepted — typically faster than the Main Jail due to the smaller facility size and lower daily booking volume. Total time from arrest to release is generally 4 to 8 hours, including the 2 to 5 hour booking and processing phase. Call Bada Bing Bail Bonds immediately after an arrest — the sooner we begin, the sooner your loved one is home.

Search the Ventura County Sheriff’s inmate database at sheriff.venturacounty.gov using the person’s full name. Court hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Some felony cases may be transferred to the Main Courthouse (Hall of Justice) at 800 South Victoria Ave, Ventura. Always confirm with your attorney which courthouse handles your specific case, as the wrong courthouse means a missed court date and a bench warrant.

Yes. Bada Bing Bail Bonds offers affordable payment plans for East County Jail bail bonds, including low-down and 0%-down options for qualifying clients. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and cash. Bail amounts can be significant depending on the charges — our payment plans make it possible to secure your loved one’s release even when the full 10% premium isn’t immediately available. Call us and we will work through your options together.

It houses all inmate types including psychiatric and maximum-security inmates. East County Jail at 2101 E. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks is smaller (~137 beds), minimum security, and serves as the dedicated booking and housing facility for east Ventura County — allowing agencies like Thousand Oaks PD and VCSO East Valley Station to book locally rather than transport 30+ miles to Ventura. For a full comparison of all three facilities and the complete Ventura County bail schedule, see our Ventura County Jail Bail Bonds page.

Man, I gotta give it up to Bada Bing Bail Bonds they came through big time! From the second I called, they treated me with straight-up respect and didn’t judge me for not knowing how the whole bail thing worked. They broke everything down step by step and kept it real the whole way.

The owner and his crew? Solid people. Moved quick, kept me in the loop, and didn’t try to play no games. You can tell they actually care about helping folks out, not just chasing money.

I contacted Bada Bing Bail Bonds to help bail out a loved one who had just been arrested. The agent immediately took the time to listen, researched the case, and after reviewing everything, advised that it might be better to wait until the next day — the court date — to see if the judge would reduce the bail or possibly release my loved one on their own recognizance.

Even though that advice meant no immediate business for them, they showed real honesty and integrity by putting our needs first. And sure enough, the next day, the judge released our loved one without needing to post bail saving us a lot of money!

It’s rare to find a bail bonds company that truly cares about people the way Bada Bing does. They’re professional, honest, and trustworthy from start to finish.

If you ever need a bail bondsman in California, I highly recommend Bada Bing Bail Bonds they’ll guide you the right way every time.
